BG Industry makes the heat‑shrink joints for the field joints of pre‑insulated district heating pipes. The material is casing‑grade HDPE PE 100 polyethylene, sealed with butyl mastic. The butyl‑sealed heat‑shrink joint is type‑tested to EN‑489‑1:2019 at the Veolia Energy Warsaw testing laboratory (PCA accreditation AB 414). Diameters DN 90 – DN 450.
BG Industry, products
Heat‑shrink joint for the straight field joint between two pre‑insulated pipes. Casing‑grade HDPE PE 100, sealed with butyl mastic; higher‑spec versions add shrink film and foam fill. A non‑welded, leak‑testable joint.

- HDPE PE 100
- Joint type
- Heat‑shrink, butyl‑sealed (non‑welded)
- Standard
- EN‑489‑1:2019, type‑tested
Heat‑shrink joint for joining two casing pipes of different diameter. Available as a straight reduction and as a welding reduction (matched to a butt‑welded carrier‑pipe size change). Diameter pairs DN 90/110 … DN 400/450.
End sleeve for pipeline terminations and pipe ends. Also available as a screw‑cap end fitting, for example for venting or closure. Branches are made with separate tee joints.
Alongside the basic PE sleeve, BG Industry has two further type‑tested joint constructions. The PEX shrink sleeve is insulated with pre‑fabricated shells instead of foaming in the joint, which suits sites where foaming in the trench is unwanted. The welded shrink sleeve adds circumferential electric welding to the butyl seal, for the mechanically strongest joint. Both are type‑tested to EN‑489‑1:2019.

Three type-tested joint constructions
All three are type-tested to EN‑489‑1:2019 at the Veolia Energy Warsaw laboratory. The choice depends on whether the joint is foamed on site and whether you want a welded joint as well.
1.1 PE shrink joint casing, single sealed with adhesive (foamed in the joint). Casings tested: Dc 250 mm / PE 4,2 mm and 160 mm / PE 3,1 mm.

2.1 PEX shrink joint casing, single sealed (pre‑fabricated shells). Casings tested: Dc 250 mm / PE 4,4 mm and 160 mm / PE 3,8 mm.

The joint decides how long a pre‑insulated pipe lasts in the ground.
