Installation guidance by phone. Install guides direct from the manufacturer.
Phone-based installation guidance from Kampek customer service. General principles here, detailed install guides on the vendor sites.
Four things that decide the outcome
Pipe surface must be dry, clean, and rust-free before installation. Stopaq systems require no priming, but heat‑shrink sleeves need surface temperature above +10 °C. Moisture trapped between sleeve and pipe is the most common installation defect.
Covalence heat‑shrink sleeves install with a propane torch. RJS-E has a dimpled Permanent Change Indicator on the backing that disappears once the correct shrink temperature is reached. Too hot scorches the polymer; too cold fails to melt the adhesive properly.
Stopaq products self-heal at the interface, pressing the wrap by hand is sufficient for the matrix to bond. No primer required.
After heat‑shrink sleeve installation, verify the sleeve has shrunk evenly across the joint and adhesive has flowed at the sleeve edges, both indicate a successful seal.
